First off thank you for your time and any help. Im a noob when it comes to pc building and im afraid i have learned that the hard way.
So problem is my PC will freeze up randomly during gaming mostly but it has done so during browsing as well. It completely Freezes up and im unable to use the mouse/keyboard or cntrl/alt/del nothing other than hitting the power button fixes the problem. I have tried re-applying thermal paste, reseatting all my hardware making sure everything was plugged in, put in an extra fan just in case, deleting old gpu drivers reinstalling new ones(340.52) and rollingback to previous driver(337.88). I have scanned and rescanned my comp for viruses using Ad-aware Pro. I use cpu-z, gpu-z, amd overdrive, coretemp, passmark all to monitor the computer, i also have aerotouch 2100 with 5 temp probes scattered throughout the interior of the computer. Never seen any crazy high temps during idle or load on any of the components: amd overdrive idle temp 52.6cthermal margin, coretemp idle temp is 19c. Under loads ie games/stress test: amd overdrive 25c thermal margin, coretemp 34c. If i am missing any needed info plz let me know.

You changed motherboards? I did not realize that.

That is many cases will cause all kinds of blue screens. Or at least it did on Windows 7. 8 is a bit more friendly, but it is very well possible that this is the root cause of the problems.

Old drivers from the previous hardware can do all kinds of fun things.

I still recommend getting a hold of another drive to do the reinstall test. This was if you get it the way you want, you can bring over files and then clone it back over to the normal drive.

I rarely reinstall Windows(I have been through 3 hard drives, 3 video cards, 2 sets of memory and 1 ssd on this system. Still holding out), but when I do, I always forget to bring something along(not files because those have a separate drive).

well i reinstalled windows 8.1 yesterday and i had 4 freeze ups. done a psu calc on numerous sites and it comes up between 875-975 psu usage somewhere in there, if its 975 i could understand it being close with my 1000w psu. im about out of ideas🙁 i was using this psu in my previous comp for like 1-2 weeks with zero problems, just thought i would add that

so my buddy is with geek squad and he let me borrow this pc check thing, i ran the tests they all passed, no way to check psu tho. after the testing i went into the main menu and did random tests on other areas, one of them was pci express, i got this error message when i tried to test it: pci express failed basic validation either because system bios failed to set values or the set values were impossible. dunno if that means anything or what, just sharing

im on day 5 without a freeze, it will occassionally lag and freeze up while playing WoT but i think its more of a heat or game map issue, its not a complete system freeze. I had to heavily modify my BIOS settings to get the freezing to stop, i changed almost every setting in bios to get it to stablize. If you are reading this and are having issues with the crosshair v formula-z and amd 9590 freezing up or having stability issues its more than likely underpowered. anyway im hoping this means its fixed and i appreciate everyones time.

i got it kinda sorted, doesnt do a hard freeze anymore it will however freeze/lag out during game play. its not as often but it does happen. the game will freeze up(World of tanks, elder scrolls online) i can still hear noise, the screen will unfreeze once or twice before it finally becomes unresponsive for 1/2-1 sec, and the game is still working because i can still hear myself getting shot or tanks driving by, monsters attacking me. i can usually cntrl, alt, del out and do a task manager shutdown of the game but when i do that my whole computer is super laggy. the mouse will move in normal speed but opening stuff, closing stuff, doing anything is very laggy. any ideas?

world of tanks and elder scrolls online. Is only right? If so might be your internet connection. Only other thing that comes to mind is that your os is not reconizing the other gigs of ram you have. Check to see how many gigs your os see installed.

OS shows 16g of ram, internet connection should be good, done speed tests, reset the router, and surfed the web(youtube) and never had any issues. its hardwired from the router to my pc so its not wireless. i get an error message in the event viewer:

error:
The description for Event ID 14 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

\Device\Video3
12b2(31c0) 00000000 00000000

event ID: 14
critical error:
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly
Kernel-Power
event ID: 41

this is the same error i was getting before when my system would do a hard freeze(the critical error, not the first one, thats a new one) and freeze up entirely, i have moved past that because i can recover to desktop half the time the games crash and the rest of the time i ccan still hear sound so its not freezing like it did in the past. I have not had a hard freeze since i did all the adjusting in BIOS. maybe i need to tweek it more, im not sure

nvlddmkm is the Nvidia driver. It may well be crashing either from a defect in the card or just a bad driver.

Try the latest ones and if that does not help go back to an older one. Try with SLI off to see if it works, It it does, report it to Nvidia.

If you think it may be a card problem. It may be worth using something like MSI afterburner to downclock the cards a bit. Most newer Nvidia cards go in increments of 13mhz so try to drop 13/26/39/ect

Actual pauses(that recover) are no uncommon in MMO games as they tend to load lots of things on the fly.

i cannot find the webpage that i used, it was an ASUS forum webpage tho. i changed everything except for my ram settings, whenever i mess with those even a little bit my computer does not like it and wont boot up correctly. so i left the ram settings stock and changed everthing else, literally everything...after i did that i would only have minor crashes during world of tanks gameplay, nvidia came out with a new driver so i installed that and have been crash free since. i would guess it was prob one or two bios settings that was causing all the issues but after doing a major change of all of them i dont have any issues. i am a little concerned with the fact that i cant overclock my ram or change the settings at all in bios for my ram but the computer runs plenty fast without it
p.s. if i find that webpage ill add it to this post
