My computer won't wake up from sleep mode, and the only way I can get it to turn on is by force shutting down the PC by taking the power cord out waiting for all the lights in the computer to turn off, then putting the power cord back in and pressing the power button.

(If I just hold down the power button when it won't wake up, it shuts down fine, but then will not turn on at all unless I remove the power cord until all lights in the PC are off, then plugging it back in and turning it back on, this is why I remove the power cord)

I have Windows 10, I've googled the issue up and down, nothing has worked so far, I've turned off hibernation from the command prompt, still not fixed, turned it back on, still not fixed, went into the troubleshooting tab, system and security, then power, the only thing it comes back with is "Screen saver is enabled - Not Fixed - X"

Can anyone help me fix this?

It's a desktop, and according to my iOBIT Driver Booster 4.2 Pro, all drivers are up to date.

driverbooster? i wouldn't use that thing for that purpose

no devices appear to be disabled or without driver on your pc?

what mainboard do you have?

few are the people using hibernation on a desktop, is a feature only used by laptops, on a desktop you leave it on with the monitor off or you shut it down when not in use

I keep my computer on 24/7 and would like to not have to shut it down.
As for the mainboard what do you mean by that? My motherboard? If so, then I have the ASUS Rampage V Extreme.
And as far as I can tell...? Nothing is disabled? But I'm also not sure what you mean by that question?

yes, your mainboard

check the latest drivers for it, if you know what chipset you have on it, get the latest driver from intel to see if some driver helps

other than that, leave it on all the time and just turn off the monitor when not in use, the pc, leave it on

Okay, yeah, the CPU I have is the Intel i7 5930k, MOBO is Asus Rampage V Extreme, downloaded the new 5930k driver from 10/20/2016 Intel® Beta Graphics Driver for Windows® 10 and Windows 7*/8.1* [15.40] restarted the computer, still having the same issue.

other drivers that can affect the process are ethernetm, sound card, gpu, wifi

sometimes there is options on bios that you can play with, but most times there is machines that will not cooperate with hibernation, so that is why i mention to disable the feature and leave it on with the monitor off

I would much rather be able to put the computer to sleep than just shutting off my three monitors. Hibernation is disabled right now. So now that hibernation is disabled how can I fix the computer to just wake on sleep?

My main complaint is this was working just fine before now all of a sudden it's no longer working. I want to get this fixed, not just ignore it by shutting off my monitors when not in use. That's not fixing my problem.

How do I update my BIOS without bricking my system? I never updated my BIOS because I'm too afraid to brick my system. :/

AGAIN, I would make sure your bios is updated before testing any of this. There also may be a setting in the bios that needs to be enabled that will allow your mouse or keyboard to wake up your computer. So we need to diagnose if this is a software issue or a hardware issue. Do you have a second hard drive? You can take your existing hard drive out and load a clean install of windows on your spare hard drive and test waking your computer up. On the flip side, perhaps your power supply is no longer capable of waking up your computer from sleep mode and may be defective. You can test this by temporally purchasing a power supply. Then if it doesn't work out, you can return it.

Ok i wiped out my computer, fresh install of Windows 10, still can't wake my PC up from sleep. Updated my BIOS and I don't see any options for USB wake in the BIOS menu unless I'm missing it.

Wiped the computer out, updated BIOS, problem still persists, also swapped out power supplies.

I see no answer, and am guessing the problem still persists? I've been reading for days, as my pc won't come out of sleep, not even forcing power off and unplugging overnight helps. As the keyboard shows no power as well, I have a dead pc since upgrading from Win 7 to Win 10. Unfortunately it seems HP have no plans to update drivers for the HP model p6335a, so like you I'm at a loss.

Mine was a power supply issue, got a new power supply and I no longer have this issue.
