so using other cables from different psu can kill your pc or just using the wrong cables in general?
Yes - exactly.
If your old PSU isn't modular, then you don't have this issue.

People upgrading modular PSUs sometimes can be lazy and think, it's ok to reuse old cables from previous PSU.
This either results in system not turning on (because of a short) or killing all connected sata HDDs and possibly sata SSDs also.

okay so hopefully i’m safe lol cause i only used the cables that came with the new one
