Hello everyone,
I am dealing with some critical issues on my machine and its frustrating because I work on this computer as well.
I upgraded from an amd rx 550 card (no power supply connector, only powered through the PSI slot) to a
Gigabyte 1060 6gb (8 pin connector) as well as added
8 gb 1333 ddr3 ram to my 8 (16gb total, all matching brand)
Now I am having issues with random freezes and crashes :/ Doesn't even happen in games really, mostly when Im browsing or watching youtube/twitch
So far I have tried:
Reset Windows (1903 update)(1903 possibly the issue??)
Ran Windows Memory Diagnostic (No issues)
Installed different Nvidia drivers with DDU (436.30, 436.15, & studio ready 431.86)
Re seating GPU & Ram (maybe slots are dirty tho?)
I believe the issue is the GPU, RAM, or PSU. I am not sure how to test further to figure out the culprit. I would like to be sure what the issue is or mostly sure before I go replacing parts. Or before I get a refund for the 1060. Wondering if there's a way to monitor my 12v rail? Maybe I should Try the GPU with 6 pin instead of 8? Or way to see exactly why windows is crashing? Also a better way to test the RAM then windows diag? or any other methods or ideas you guys think will help Thanks in advance!!
System:
i7 3770k
Gigabyte GA-Z77P-D3 Mobo
16 gb (4x4gb) 1333Mhz DDR3 PNY RAM
Gigabyte 1060 6gb
CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX750 V2 750W (getting old but should be good?)
Samsung 860 EVO 500gb
WIndows 10 Pro 1903 Build (maybe 1803 is more stable?)
