Hello everyone,
I bought a new gaming rig back in October. Ever since I have been plagued with bsods and random reboots. It seems to be random, but it usually happens when I am doing something intensive. At first, it would crash randomly, even at the desktop, about every 3 minutes. I then switched the gpu for my friend's radeon hd 7950. It worked fine. I RMA'ed the gpu, but the problem was still there. We tried my gpu in his rig and it was fine. After reading forum posts about similar issues, I decided that the mother board was not compatible with the gpu. Today I switched the motherboard for my friend's, but after about an hour, it crashed when I was just using google chrome. Then, I played Sleeping Dogs for about 20 minutes before it crashed again. And btw I also get much lower frame rates than I should with my card, and there are some really bad frame drops to like 10 fps. I don't think it is any specific part, but it might be an incompatibility with another part. Maybe the cpu, or maybe my psu isn't enough for it. If anyone has any insight to this please help me out!

These are my specs:

Sapphire Tri-x R9 290
AMD FX 8350
Crucial Ballistix Sport 2x4 gb ram
Asus m5a78l-m/usb3
Corsair cx 600w psu (80+ bronze)
Seagate Barracuda 7200 rpm 1 Tb hdd

So do you think both of them are causing problems? My friend had the asus m5a78l-m lx plus, and my card worked in his pc fine, but when we moved that mobo to my pc with the card, it started rebooting. That makes me think it could be the psu.

Okay. Do you think I can get away with the motherboard until my birthday in april? I think I'll just ask for a new one then.

So a 650 watt is okay? It just depends on the brand and whether its gold certified?
