Hello,
Yesterday I bought a new GTX 1050ti
and it started showing the same signs as my old 7770, restarting while gaming. Specs are as follows
AMD FX 6300
GTX 1050Ti
Asus M5A97
CorsairVS 550

I tried Windows power saver mode and it worked fine, PC doesn't restart on normal usage. Also it allows gaming on this mode but again a loss in performance. Temps range between 35-45°C of the parts. Any extra precautions to take for now. I suspect bad PSU, any saftey measure to take while I go ahead and replace the PSU?

I was going to say check your heat, but it seems that your temps are staying pretty normal range. Are you running a temperature app? You should run that while gaming and see what it says, and check both the CPU and the MB temps. Sometimes one will look good but the other be high. Your MB seems to have good heatsinks for your VRM, so that is good. 550 watts should be more than good for that build as a 1050ti doesn't use a lot of juice, nor does that processor. If all your heating is good, then yeah, I would definitely check into the PSU. You can get them pretty inexpensive on Amazon. Get a good brand name like another Corsair or EVGA or something. Some of the cheaper brands can be sub-par in their performance.
CyberEgg Maybe it's the CPU, but maybe it's due to heat. Your FX 6300 only gets between 35-45C? That sounds suspiciously low for a gaming load to me. Do you have stock AMD cooler on CPU or 3rd party?

Run HWmonitor and check temps immediately after gaming for 5 minutes. What are temps? If normal, then you should see if reboot is caused by components on motherboard overheating. http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/hwmonitor/hwmonitor_1.31.exe

Simple test: open side of case, and tilt computer on it's side. The motherboard should now be facing ceiling. Locate spare floor or desk fan and point toward motherboard. Then game and see if system restarts.

rcald2000 Sorry that was just an estimate. BIOS shows CPU temps at 41°C and I get around 35-50C when gaming at night time with stock cooler at 5000rpm. Is it safe to turn on PC and run the test? I'll stress the factor again that I CAN game on Windows power saver mode, I generally play e-sports title, not high end games. Altough I get around 60-150 fps wherein it should be above 250.
