My PC has been restarting nowadays.
It started like 3 months ago with some randoms rebootings while playing some
games like gta v for some hours. Then it scalated up quickly.

-Now any time i play a game it restart almost immediatly after open the game.
(even low req games)
(ive noticed if i change game settings to 720p or less i can open and play the games
for some minutes before restart)
-Also, any time i try to open any big size picture (like 2000px+) it restart the system.
-Or when im using Chrome on a moderate+ load it restart too.
-And any time i tried to stress test the gpu it restart.

Ive noticed that after being on for like 2 days, the pc restarts more easily
(today even with the load of the ini programs (antivirus, steam, etc) its almost enough to make it restart again).
And if i dont set on the pc for like 12 hours alike i can play for like 1 hour before it start
to restart.

My specs are:
CPU: Phenom II x4 955 (8 years old)
RAM: Gskill ddr3 2x2gb (7 years)
cpu cooling: Deep Cool Ice Blade 200M (1 year)
psu: cooler master extreme power plus 650w (2 years)
gpu: r7 260x 2gb (2 years)
hdd: seagate sata 1tb (new)
wd 500gb x2 (3 years)

Also tested the ram with memtest86.
And did stress test to cpu without any problem.
Temperatures are fine with tests.
Ive reinstalled windows and main programs/games in the new hdd, so dont think its a virus/drivers problem. The restarting issue is the same in old and new hdd.

Im pretty sure that at beginning of the problems there were rare shuttingdown issues too, but now its all rebooting problems.

Im not sure if its the gpu, the mb, or psu that its the source of errors.
Ive previously searched in the web for similar topics, but since im not pretty sure the answer i tried to ask directly.

Thanks for answers, and sorry for bad english.

Hi, i have another old pc with M4N68T-M LE motherboard with 1 x 4-pin ATX 12V Power connector , so not sure if my PSU (4+4pin CPU 12v) can fit there. I dont think i can try the gpu there separately from the psu. The psu from that old pc is a 450w common one, maybe too low for a gpu.

Hi, the motherboard is a Gigabyte MA790XT-UD4P (8years old too)

sry bad typo, i meant real250w psu in older pc.
Also, how i can test the psu?

You can't test the PSU without specialized equipment; you need to install another one. Based on your description, the issue most likely is the GPU. Is it still under warranty?

unluckly dont think i have the warranty by now

Well, this is what ive tried:

-Placed the gpu on hte PCI x8 on the same pc (until now it was on the x16 slot) = Same problem.

-I have an older pc with mb M4N68T-M LE (older pc never had a GPU, just the IGP)
/Replaced the old PSU (250w) with mine (Cooler master 650w), tried some stressing tests. All Ok.
/Then tried to plug the GPU (r7 260x) on the old mb. It didnt recognize.
The PSU was connected to the GPU and the GPU fans worked correctly even if the system didnt recognize it.
When i connect the monitor to the gpu it dont receive signal (but pc starts and load windows fine)
(Cant disable IGP from BIOS, just select the PCI<IGP load order, but even with that gpu its not recognized)
(GPU fits correctly on the motherbard)

Yup, any kind of stress test to gpu will restart automatically the pc.
