I recently upgraded a few components of my PC, new motherboard, CPU, GPU. Now when I play some games the system will restart occasionally midgame without warning. CPU temps range from 65-80 which I know is high but that shouldn't be causing a restart at the temps as far as I know. Specs below.

Ryzen 5 3600
RTX 2070S
16GB RAM
550W PSU

Did you reinstall Windows after the upgrade?

I didn't, but I had noticed that under my device manager, my GPU in the PCI slot wasn't being identified, so I downloaded the latest motherboard chipset drivers and I believe it fixed the issue. Even my CPU temps are lower than they were before. Probably should've checked that first thing after installing a new motherboard.

I have the same problem and I've tried anything I can think of but no change.

The PC restarts only when gaming.
Until a few weeks ago it worked like a charm, I didn't changed anything hardware wise.
  • I've reinstalled and tried Windows 7, 8.1 and 10, all x64.
  • I've reset the BIOS.
  • I've updated the drivers and the Windows.
The temps are between 30 Celsius(89 Fahrenheit) in idle and maximum 65 Celsius(150 Fahrenheit) while gaming.
I don't use overclocking.

All the components where new when I brought them.

My system:
  • Ryzen 2600X + a big aftermarket cooler.
  • GTX 1070 MSI.
  • 16GB DDR4 3000mhz.
  • Gigabyte AX 370 Gaming 5
  • Samsung SSD
  • 700W MS-Tech power supply.

Sorry to hear that. My fix was indeed the power supply. I went from a 550W to a 750W. I was told 550 would be enough and that it probably isn’t the PSU but installing the new one fixed my issue. It may have gone bad. Have you tried a new PSU?

No. I want to try anything I can before buyng new hardware. Tomorow I'll remove all the non vital(OS install) SSD and HDD an try that. If it dosent change anything, maybeI'll buy a new power supply.
