PC shuts down, and turns on by itself

Hello, I installed a new hdd in my pc, (which i built), a couple of days ago.
I noticed that my old HDD and SSD were not plugged in in the 6 gb/s port... thing, and plugged them in there and i plugged the new one in the 3 gb/s thing.
When I then wanted to turn it on, I got a message that said, reboot and select proper boot device blahblahblah, I eventually figured that one out and solved the problem, however the PC then started to shut itself down at completely random times, (shut down seemed more like a complet loss of power). I say random because I can't see any connections between the shut downs, once I was playing a game, once I was browsing the internet and once when I was in Skype.
I looked around for answers and installed some drivers. Now it does not shut itself down anymore (I think) but now the damned thing turns itself back on when I turn it of, mere seconds after.
Another problem is since the new HDD was installed my pc is behaving very weirdly when upp and going; for example it is a bit slower than before, programs stop working more often (most anoying is that some youtube klipps dont work :/)

Almost forgott, when I start up my pc I get a message that says no virtual disc found, and in Bios one of my disc drives arent detected though they work fine in windows.

be sure to update your bios,

then this could also be an hdd error so test your hard drive
-Start menu
-Computer
-Right click the hdd thats giving you problems
-properties
-tools tab
-Error checker(also defrag)
-Then run which ever one will look the deepest this can take hours by the way so just be ready for that

Then finally this could be a psu or gpu problem so if you have any other psu's or Gpu's then besure just to take a test run with it for a while

will test to update my bios manually, and check the HDD. Don't have another psu or gpu at the moment so that'll will have to wait 😛
 


I updated my bios, but the pc still turns on by itself after I turn it of

And error checked the HDD, took almost all day :S
 
Do I have to unplug the power button? Would like to refrain touching to many things inside the case in case I ruin something
 
ok, so I tried the thing with the powerswitch but I then could not turn it on with the screwdriver.
Also, my pc has begun to shut down randomly again

What to do now?

1) are your drivers updated?

2) Try updating your bios

4) Could it be over heating?

5) try running a GPU and CPU stress tester(use seperately) and monitor temps with gpu-z(for graphics card temp) and core temp(for cpu)

5) Could your ram be having issues? run memtest

ok new problem,
I wont be able to try those things cause i can no longer turn on my pc.
When i try it just powers on, but nothing happens, no boot no nothing 🙁
 
ok it sounds like to me that your ram is faulty then either that or your motherboard is dead can you please see if you can get other ram or try different slots(to be honest this none posting helps me help you figure this out even more because now it can only be 4 things the RAM[which to me is most likely of options] your motherboard[which is really hard to test can only be found out if all the others are found to be ok] PSU[which you can test with http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FWXgQSokF4] then it can also be the graphics card which if you are running a intel cpu you can test by running off the cpu itself or the intregrated graphics how you can do this is you can plug the monitor in straight through the vga port on the back of the motherboard

hmm, how am i to see if its the RAM?

And when i am supposed to check the graphics card, should I take it out or can i leave it in when testing.

Am a little bit wondering about the PSU, cause i can clearly see that i get power, the led around the power button is blinking as it should

Also, i would really appreciate some punctuation as im not english 😛

I tested the PSU thing and it powered on fine, and when i put it back into the chassi the pc started upp with the message "Reboot and select proper boot device" which i did, and now it works... for now

Quite worried still

for graphics card yes take out the graphics card and run off the onboard graphics

note: I think it may be either your ram or your motherboard, I think this because when you uplugged your Power Supply you may have reset the ram there for clearing what ever and this may have temporarily fixed the problem though if it happened once there is a high chance it will happen again

So, I grew tired of trying to figure out what had happened to my pc so I just went to a store and asked them to figure it out, after a week they told me it was the motherboard that had been malfunctioning, they however could not find what made my pc shut down, (they had done stress tests and all), and they think it may be my power plugg thuings, sockets?, that might be the problem.

So, I bought a new motherboard and cpu, and now im wondering if i have to reformat my hdd with win 7 before trying to boot my pc?
 
you dont have to reformat it you just need to reinstall windows it willl save all your data in a file called windows.old.. you will need to reinstall all your programs but you can drag any data from the windows.old file and lose nothing, just dont reformat just install

did you think about getting another socket for the wall? go to lowes or some place and get a wall socket
