PC to PC File Transfer Speed With 100Mb Network

What speed should I expect when copying a large file from 1 P.C. to another with a 100Mb network connection?

Max. theoretical transfer speed is 12,5 MB/s on a full duplex link. Given there is always overhead when transferering over a network you should expect around 10-11 MB/s on a 100Mbps cabled network.

Thank you for the quick reply. Windows 10 typically reports 8 to 11MB so I suspect that is in the ballpark. I was concerned that I unknowingly have something connected that is 10Mb and dragging the rest down.

I think you are closest. I see 113MB/s (actual, steady, no drops) on a Gigabit Ethernet

if your pc's have 1G cards you can buy a 1G switch for $15 and transfer at 1G. The router ports won't impact it.
