Hey!
I want to know if the new pc that i'm building will be able to run CS:GO/1080p/120FPS at all maps.

pc specs:

CPU: I7 3770k (4.3ghz)
GPU: GTX 750TI 2GB VRAM
RAM: 8GB

If you are not planning on streaming buy i5 4690k with gtx 970 and you will be able to play it 120fps 1080p all video settings on highest :)

I7 3770k vs i5 4690k = same performance in game

i7 = can streaming while playing
i5 = can't, have to buy avermedia capture card or similar

PS: make sure to buy good motherboard for both of these processors, depending on which one will you buy. If the motherboard is crap then don't bother buying K version processor

you could quite easily stream with a number of different i5 processors, where have you got this information?

Personal experience :). I have i5 4690k @ 4.7GHz, when I was streaming and playing it would work 100% load and it would die probably in a year or two, also would have fps drops here and there...so I bought avermedia capture card and now its cool, load is about 70-80% now :)

You can stream on lower graphics tho but I wouldn't watch 360p streams myself so...

that is odd, there have seen a number of threads suggesting budget streaming builds that recommend i5's. Perhaps it was something to do with your overclock, were you checking temps while streaming?
P.S impressive overclock my friend

i5 is fine if you are occasional streamer on lower quality. If you want to stream every day and earn some money I would suggest i7 or i5 with capture card. I had normal temperatures on processor but it was on 100% load constantly. My noctua nh-d15 was working quite loudly to cool the proc down.

P.S. Thanks, they can go up to 4.8GHz stable, it all depends if you're lucky or not to get it 😀 Mine is stable up to 4.7GHz, above it crashes 😛

Still we're getting out of topic now.. I just suggested to him if he wants to go streaming go for i7 altho he didn't mention anything about streaming so...

he recommends an i5/i7 or xeon?

"When you're streaming there'll be a performance drop if you're doing a monitor capture. If you have a capture card, that'll reduce that performance drop. If you're getting 60fps+ no need to upgrade."

Read man. It's all about FPS! Here is what will most likely happen to you in game if you stream with i5 on 720p or fullhd

and you can't fix it, I tried disabling everything that I didn't need ingame but nop. Once I got capture card it was all ok :)

firstly the guy has an AMD chip currently in that other thread and secondly i've never said an i7 isn't better for streaming but an i5 is perfectly capable of streaming and you can save a lot of money. If everyone had unlimited budgets nobody would come on this website as no one would need a recommendation or advice because everyone would have i7's and xeons, thats all im saying.

He was asking if it was worth the upgrade, it doesn't matter if the guy has AMD. I have 4690k dude and I'm writing from personal experience for streaming CS:GO on 720p quality or more and having 100fps+. I wanted you to see that part for fps drops.

Difference between 4690k and E3-1231 v3 is literally $13 now and would be better for streaming. If not streaming would pick 4690k instead. i7 would be $100 more. Like I said it all depends if he wants to stream or not. So to conclude for CS:GO 4690k, streaming CS:GO on good quality 4690k with capture card, or E3-1231 v3 or i7(if you want to go pro).

personal experience isn't always the absolute answer but ok
