I'be been having an issue with my PC. When i turn it on after a long period of it being turned off (such as overnight), it starts first time, every time, with no issues. However if I want to restart it, or I turn it off for a few seconds, to maybe a few hours, i'll really struggle to get it to start properly. Specifically, the fans run and it lights up, but there is no display output. I have to keep pressing the power button to turn it off and on and off etc. and it takes many attempts to get it to start properly. Once it starts I can't fault it.

I've just tried swapping my PSU to a more powerful one (860w), because I wondered if it was short on power, but its made no odds.

The latest BIOS update for my motherboard was in 2021 and the GPU came out in 2023, do you think it could be a bios issue? Are there BIOS settings I can maybe mess with that might help?

Thanks in advance.

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

I've just tried swapping my PSU to a more powerful one (860w), because I wondered if it was short on power, but its made no odds.
What is the make, model and age of the latter PSU(which was used for troubleshooting to rule out your current PSU)?

Originally it had a Corsair CV650, now it has an old Corsair ax860
