pc turns on, keyboard light flash then shut off

Hope you can help me, don't know that much about computers. pc turns on, lights come on, sometimes the fan runs but usually after I have unplugged from the pc, keyboard light flashes and then shuts off immed. monitor show no signal input. Was doing this for a couple of weeks sometimes I could get windows to come up after several attempts but now it won't at all. During that time system would never restart on it's own..

could be many-- what machine is it... when you post in future could you let us know what machine you have
what board you have etc etc we need as much info as we can to solve any issues..

Could be the power supply
could be that the heat sink needs reseating
motherboard could be faulty
if it was the ram it would beep - with out seeing the machine its a bit troublesome but my money is on the powersupply...
