Question PC Upgrade recommendations/advice

Recently, I purchased the PC listed below for £100.00 on Friday. I'm looking to create a gaming PC on a budget. It doesn't have to be amazing or run all the top games in 4K, as long as I get a solid 60FPS at 1080p, I'll be happy.

Specifications:
Motherboard: ASUS M1101I-PLISOS
OS: Windows 10 Home
CPU: i5-7400
RAM: 20GB at 2133 MHz (4GB Corsair & 16GB Patriot)
GPU: MSI Aero GTX 1070 8GB GDDR5 ITX Graphics Card
HDD: N/A
SSD: Fanxiang SATA SSD 250G. Up to 530MB/s, 2.5 Inches SSD SATA III 6Gb/s
PSU: Corsair VS Series VS350 PSU
Monitor: ACER Nitro XV282KK @ 144Hz

I am wondering if it can be upgraded and where I should start upgrading first. What upgrades should I make, for example, from an i5 to an i7, etc.?

I have already upgraded the Corsair VS350 and purchased a Corsair VS550 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply, which is being delivered and installed tomorrow.

What is your budget? There are a lot of old components there and "upgrading" might not make much sense. For example a new i7-7700 runs $167 that is the same or close to the same as a new Ryzen 5 7600 or i5-13400F.

Going from a Corsair VS350 > Corsair VS550 is not an upgrade. Sure it has slightly more capacity but it is still a bad PSU and I would NEVER use it with a dedicated GPU. It is only something you would see in an office system that doesn't need to do anything.

You would get more value for your money building a new system rather than upgrading the old one. It might cost a little more (could be cheaper as well) but it would be a better investment.
