Pc won't boot after applying more paste.

K I decided to clean my processor and apply more thermal paste on it and I cleaned my processor with alcohol on a cotton swap and then put some arctic silver 5 thermal on the processor(a little bit then I spread it out).

Now when I try to cut my pc on my heatsink and graphics card fans spin really fast and the display won't start.

Anybody got any ideas?

Did you actually remove the cpu from the socket?

Yep took to the processor out and cleaned it out then put more thermal paste on and put it back in.

No didn't mess with the graphics card at all.

Just took off my heatsink and cpu, cleaned them, applied more paste then put them back on.

IF you haven't already, try re-seating your CPU again. It might not have been reinstalled properly. Also check for bent pins on the board/CPU whichever end has the pins.

For some reason resetting the Cmos did it.

There's a good reason it worked.
you removed the cpu.
It's not required to remove the cpu when re-applying paste.

Lol, I had to clear CMOS AND re-install after I re-seated the SAME processor (stupid ASUS)
