Hello, at first i wanna say i’m not good with english since it’s not my native language, i’m sorry if any of you would find it’s hard to understand this question.

so firstly i wanna explain what’s happen. I just build my pc for the first time, everything goes normal, i can boot to bios and check if cpu, ram and etc is connected, and i can install windows well. After reach the home screen, i installed the wifi and lan driver, and after that i installed sound driver and it’s said that i have to restart and so i did. After restart, i found that something goes wrong since it stuck around 30 minutes in mobo logo, and then there’s black screen with cursor only. I tried to reinstall the windows via bootable flash drive but it’s takes too long, around 2 hours total until it finished (stuck at setup is starting, and then takes 30 minute at copying files). I started to feel anxious since the first instalation only takes 15 minutes to complete. After the instalation is finished, it takes me to bios logo (i’m using msi mother board) and it’s said “preparing setup” but it’s just stuck in there. Waited for 3 hours and no response at all, it’s like infinite loop.

Also after this problems occur, i found that it’s takes 2-4minutes before the mother board logo appear, while as i remembered it takes only couple of second on the first time instalation.

My specs:
-msi pro b660m a wifi ddr4
-i5-12400f
-rtx 3060 ultra w oc 12gb
-team t force delta rgb 3600 2x8gb
-deepcool ls520
-dr12 pro fan (4)
-cooler master mwe 650 80+ gold
-wd blue 1tb
-xpg adata 500gb

here’s list of what i tried to fix them, but nothing works
  • pres ctrl+shift+del when it’s black screen with cursor only but nothing happened. Try ctrl+shift+esc is the same.
  • try to boot safe mode but it can’t (3 times reset power button buy hold and turn of when the mobo logo started to appear)
  • reinstall windows
  • try to detach and attach all the hardware
  • try to swap ram slot
  • try to login with only one ram
  • unplug all the usb kabels or etc (only have keyboard)
  • try to swap hdmi cable (both is works fine in my laptop and works in pc before)
  • try to update bios (i checked the version, i match the model name, i watch the tutorial of several source including the official and the bios update is works fine)
  • last i wanna try to use a new nvme and do a fresh install but it could take a week because i had to return the first one i have.

and i found that after the crash happen, it takes 2-3 minutes until the mobo logo appear and during that time the vga light on mobo (it’s white light) and disappear after the mobo logo appear, is it okay?

Any idea why is this happening? Pls help me whoever you are out there T_T.

Probably CPU overheating. Check CPU temperatures in BIOS.
When installing windows, have only single drive connected. Physically disconnect all secondary drives.

During installation of windows you may want to disable XMP and use ram in non-overclocked mode.

Ah i forgot to mention, that the cpu temps is 35c, and i think it’s normal in idle cond. And the xmp is return to default after i update my bios. didn’t try to disconnect all drive but at the first installation it’s goes smooth with 2 drive connected (i’ll try after get my new nvme). Thanks for answering sir

Single drive recommendation is, so you don't end up in situation,
when windows is installed on one drive and bootloader is on second drive (HDD).

During installation of windows you have no control over, where bootloader goes.
Bootloader often gets placed on the other drive.

Thanks for your answer sir. So after i have my new nvme, i have to remove my hdd and just install my nvme on the board right?

Oh can i ask something, is the gpu fine? Since it’s can show image and i can enter bios (which i think it’s fine and works because it’s still show display and my cpu doesn’t have igpu).

You'd have to first install windows and run some GPU intensive apps/games first.
Only then you can tell, if GPU is operating properly (no crashes, bsods, artifacts etc.)
thanks for the answer sir, but is it possible such as trouble like you mention, happen in new gpu? I bought mine along with other parts around last week, and i just build it yesterday since some part is still on shipment.

You'll know, when you test it. But is should be fine.
If it isn't, then you have warranty.
Sir i wanna info you that now my pc is boot perfectly and works well. What’s happen is that my hdd is the one made my pc won’t boot. After i decided to unplug it (somehow i just wanna try) and turn on my pc, and voila it’s works.
