The other day I replaced my old B550M-A motherboard with a new B550M-A but I am having issues switching from 2133Mhz RAM to 3200Mhz.

I have tried changing the frequency but no POST... I have tried switching D.O.C.P to profile 1 but no POST.
The only difference, if I remember correctly, is that this time I placed the memory sticks in slots A1 and B1 so maybe that is the issue?

I would really like some help in figuring this out before resorting to changing the slots to A2 and B2.
My RAM is 2 x 8gb Corsair Vengeance 3200Mhz DDR4.

Is the bios version the same from your old motherboard as your new one? Try slots A2 B2 that is what your motherboard manual suggests.

I fixed it. It was because I placed the Ram sticks into A1 and B1 unlike on my old board where I had them in A2 and B2... Its at 3200mhz now.

Why cant A1 and B1 function the same as A2 and B2
A_1 & B_1 are intended for "quad channel" RAM configurations when installing a 4 module kit.
A_2 & B_2 for "dual channel" when only installing a 2 module dual channel kit.

to understand more what that means, just do some research.

i would imagine the default DIMM setup is just for a better heat deference and clearance from the CPU when using the most common dual channel mode.

That makes sense. I just assumed that they could be interchanged but oh well. Learned something today so that is good.
