My pc was completely working the night before. Went to bed and now my computer will not turn on at all. I can see power going through the machine because the motherboard lights up and the usb speakers I have are lit up as well. I can also charge my phone from it. No error code is showing and I do not know what to do. Please help!

Mind giving us the specs?

Maybe some component isn't connected properly. It happened to me with my graphics card once; taking it out and reseating it solved the problem. This would be a last resort, but you could open the PC, take everything out, and reseat it.

It could also be something stupid like your power switch being broken XD. Let's hope it's that.

Edit: Do the fans spin up when you press the power button?

If you have a part list, should I assume the PC is fairly new? This would make it more unlikely for the problem to be failing components, and would also mean you are probably covered by warranty.

As I asked before, do the fans spin up when you press the power button?

It you want to check the power button theory, switch the connections for the power and reset buttons, then use the reset button to try and power up the PC.

P.S. Nice rig, I'm kinda jealous XD.

Nothing spins when I try to turn the pc on. It just does nothing. Also the pc is like 3 or 4 years old. It's not new.

Ps. I saved for a long time to build this. First pc I built and it now has its first problem

Don't worry, we're here to help. You're pretty lucky, mine started causing trouble the day after building it XD.

If it does nothing, the idea of a broken power switch may indeed be right. Use your motherboard's manual to find the connectors for the power and reset buttons, switch them, then press the reset button. If it turns on, happy days! You just gotta replace the power switch. You can also leave it as is if you don't use the reset button.

If it doesn't though, we might have to start testing for components, most probably the motherboard. However, please do try the reset button solution first.

I have tried the start button and the reset button on the motherboard and nothing happens. The motherboard lights up. Even the start and reset button. However nothing happens. LEDs on the motherboard and the usb speakers connected to it works. But nothing happens.

There are a few things you can do if that's the case.

Re-seat the RAM and graphics card, then try again.

If that doesn't work, you have two choices:

-1, Try replacing some components with known good ones. Most likely culprits are the PSU and the mobo, so try replacing the PSU first. You can borrow one from a friend, or maybe buy a replacement one.

-2, try simply taking apart the PC, then assembling it from scratch. That should fix any dodgy connections. Do be careful, since PC components are fairly delicate. If this fixes the problem, you're good to go!

Nothing changed. I took them out the rearranged them but it still doesn't turn on. I know there is power to the motherboard because all of the lights on it start up and the usb speakers also turn on. So I have no idea what has gone wrong.

There is one more thing I'd like you to try: reset the CMOS. Your mobo should have a dedicated Clear CMOS button. Check this link.

If you're lucky, that'll fix it. If not, you can still try to take apart your PC and build it again, in hopes of the problem being a dodgy connection somewhere. If not even that fixes it, I'd start looking for either a PSU or a compatible mobo to test your parts.

Edit: The CMOS reset will delete the BIOS configuration, so you'll have to set it up again from zero. However, if it fixes the problem, I'd say it's a small price to pay.

I have tried to do the CMOS reset and it still doesn't work. Fans don't turn on. No beeping. But I can still see the LEDs on the motherboard light up and the usb speakers turn on.

What should I do now?

Question from PhantomKingPin : "Non starting PC"

The PSU is : https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/PVzZxr/corsair-txm-gold-650w-80-gold-certified-semi-modular-atx-power-supply-cp-9020132-na

Also I have tried one stick of Ram and checked the wires and all is in correctly. And it still won't turn on.

Have you reassembled your computer? If you haven't, give it a try.

If it still won't work, it's likely that either your PSU or mobo are defective. Sending them back for a replacement would be the best course of action.

PS: Sorry for the late reply, I was quite busy IRL
