I have Kingston HyperX3500 advertised as CAS2. This is open to
interpretation since it's CAS2 at PC3200 and CAS2.5 at PC 3500. I feel I was
mislead by kingston. I expected PC 3500 at CAS2 just like what is on the
damn label. And will run at 220Mhz at CAS2 with no problem at all. I
upgraded my Bios and notice that THE SPD settings changed for the ram.
Kinston and the booklet says 2-3-3-7 which is what I manually have it set
to. Anyways here's what SPD says to answer your suspicion. Noticed that the
new AI7 bios (16) incorrectly reads the ram as 2-3-3-8 for PC 3200
And and correctly reads it as 2.5-4-4-9 at PC 3500 But my bios does not have
9 as an option. which leave my chioces limited if I ever want faster ram
frequencies. But I'd rather have ram that is CAS2 than a few more mhz on the
fsb using ram that takes 33% longer to get the data to the processor which
results in system that is choked by high latency over priced ram.
