Allo everybody,
So today I finally received my new GPU the MSI GTX 970 😀 (yes I'm a little bit far behind but I'm poor lol). This card requires 1x 6pin female cable + 1x 8pin female cable (see picture 1). But during the installation I came to the conclusion that my PSU doesn't have the PCI-E 6 pin female cable, which he usually would have 🙄 , at that moment all the excitement and happiness went down to the creek... Instead of the 6pin female it has an 8 pin female cable + a 6 pin male cable (see picture 2). I tried to find a way to fix this without instantly having to buy a new PSU and then I came on a cable extension which goes from a male 6 pin to 2x 6+2 female pins (see picture 3).

Btw my PSU is the FSP 450-60EMDN

Picture 1 (please don't pay attention to my cables I didn't manage it yet here)
Picture 2 This are the cables I have from my PSU right now
Picture 3 This is the cable I want to buy but I started to doubt if the input connector (which I marked with a red circle) is a female or male variant. Because I don't want to be in the situation again where I have a 6pin male with a 6pin male... Can somebody confirm it? I don't have alot of knowledge about PCI-E cables 😕

Sooo my question is basically, would this cable extension fix my problem? So no, do I need to buy a different cable extension or even buy a new PSU (please don't say that I have to 🙁)
Thanks in advance!

Solution
Alright according to your comment and some other forums I came down to the Corsair CX550M (2015) and the Corsair RM650 (2019). Is it really worth it to buy the RM or would the CX do the job aswell? Besides that I've also read that the brand Seasonic is apparently better option than Corsair. Then came to the Seasonic Focus GX-550.
Which one would you think is the best option for me to buy?

The RM650 is a good PSU. But if you don't need modularity, the CX550 (with no M) is actually a better PSU inside than the CX-M.
If the cable was meant to power your PSU it would fit out of the box. There are molex to pci conversions I’d trust more but either way they weren’t MADE to power a GPU and could potentially damage your GPU. If you want to power a GPU, get a PSU with the required cables.

Well I do have the budget, but not the budget to buy stuff like a gtx 1080 eg.
So no cable extension, which PCU would you guys recommend? Like a Corsair VS series VS550 or something? I have literally no idea what good or bad is . It says on tweakers it has 2x 6+2 PCIe cables

Thanks for the help guys.
Do I also need to worry about that my PSU might not be compatible to my MOBO or isn't that possible? E.g that I don't have the right cables to give power to my MOBO inputs (I don't mean the ATX 24 pin). I mean right now I have a P8 connector right next to my CPU/CPU cooler and my CPU fan cable. Should I be worried that I might not have the right cables to power those with the CX550 or RM650?

"P8" is a standard ATX12V 4-pin connector.

And the CPU fan plugs into the CPU fan connector. It has nothing to do with the power supply.

You have a Medion MT14, right? That just has a standard MSI ATX motherboard in it. Nothing out of the ordinary.
