Pci Express X16

can I use a Pci Express 2.0 X16 in a Pci express slot that doesn't use 2.0 and if so, will there be any performance problems later on like slowing down Graphics performance? or will it stay the as if i were to use a pci express X16 . (Note: i Have a pci Express x16 slot x 2 )

Google son, this information is easily found all over the forum, in wikipedia, and any general tech info site. You don't need to make a post about it.

2.0 cards are backwards compatible. They will work in a 1.1 slot just fine. There will be no performance loss until we get a new generation of fast cards.
