Hey everyone,

First post here so let me know if this is not the right thread.

I'm trying to install a GPU in a plasma cutting table PC, to help with rendering when they draw designs.

The GPU works fine when installed, the problem is after I installed it the LPT3 device stopped working. This is used to communicate between the PC and the plasma controller.

It works fine again when I remove the GPU.

First time I have had this problem, and I’m guessing it’s a simple setting that I’m missing.

I’ve searched on the forum here, and online, but couldn’t find the solution.

Any help would be great!

Alright so I managed to figure this out on my own. The current PlasmaCam software has an auto detect port function in settings - machine. After auto detecting, which took about 20 seconds and looked like the software froze, I was able to initialize the machine.

The old version, apparently, you had to copy the hex address from the port settings (computer management) and manually enter the address in the PlasmaCam settings.

I have had to auto detect twice now though. Which isn’t a problem but I might try and manually enter the address and hope it sticks.

You are going to have to find a make and model of the motherboard for us to help you much.
