I'm having Asus P8Z68-V PRO with a Intel Core i5-2500K, 8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600. Overclocking is not done.
Currently I'm having single XFX Radeon HD 4870. But it got corrupt due to some voltage problem. Now I'm planning to purchase a new Graphics card.
I need some points to be clarified.
Suppose I install PCIe 3.0 card over PCIe 2.0 slot, what exact difference will it make in terms of the clock (core/memory) speed, memory bandwidth etc. I know the card will perform slower but what and how much in technical terms.
My motherboard supports only PCIe 2.0 in quad SLI/Crossfire.
Suppose I plan to get GTX560Ti (PCIe2.0) or GTX 650Ti (PCIe3.0), which will give me better performance.
By specifications, GTX650Ti is better but will it be the same on PCIe 2.0 slot? What exact things will work at lower speed and how much lower?
I do not want to upgrade motherboard or processor or any other thing. Just GPU. PSU will be upgraded too to 850W may be corsair.
Also not interested in ATI cards as they run too hot and cause trouble in very hot and humid climate where I live.
Can anyone suggest a best possible NVIDIA GPU with brand or exact model name on the above setup?
