After a ton of research I am inclined to go with the Samsung 2TB Pro NVMe as a replacement for my current 512GB EVO NVMe.
This is to accomodate any potential upgrade to my CPU and Motherboard in the next year or two.
I am aware of the 'health decline' issue but assume this has been resolved with latest firmware

However, my CPU-Motherboard only supports PCIE 3.0!

Can I expect any additonal performance degradation than if I had gone with a PCIE 3.0 card like the Samsung 970?
Thanks!

What is the make and model of your motherboard and the processor you've paired with the board? If your board and processor will both operate at a max speed of PCIe 3.0, then your SSD will operate at PCIe3.0 speeds. PCIe 4.0 devices are backwards compatible with PCIe3.0 slots but that means your speeds will be reduced.

Thanks. ASUS ROG Zenith Extreme and AMD Threadripper 1950x.
Just wanted to confirm that there won't be any additional performance decrease or throttling with a PCIE 4 card than if I had gone with a PCIE3 card.
