Pentium g3258 vs. i3 4150

Just as the title says. I will be gaming on my computer. The motherboard will be the Gigabyte GA-z97x-SLI. I can learn to overclock. The motherboard has something called EasyTune. It makes overclocking simple. So which one will be better? Pentium g3258 or the i3 4150 for gaming (Skyrim, Elder Scrolls Online, Smite, DayZ)? Please give me solid reasons

The Pentium G3258. Most modern games do not use multiple cores effectively, so you won't gain much with the i3. The Pentium is unlocked so you can overlock it. The Pentium is cheaper as well.

Well you would want to be doing some good overclocks, the i3 would be better but the pentium will do great with an overclock. if you can afford an i3 get that otherwise the pentium is a great choice.

I can get the i3 4150 for $90. Paired with a Sapphire r9 270x 2GB GDDR5 OC with boost, will it max out skyrim?

Yes definitly and should do will even with a good few mods on.
