I have the Dell Studio 1747, and I want to upgrade the RAM for (2*4GB) (8GB) with PC3-12800 speed.
My question is I want to know what is the brand and fully compatible performance RAM with my laptop.

How much memory can I upgrade my Dell Studio 1747 to and what is memory type it takes?

You can upgrade your Dell Studio 1747 upto a maximum of 8GB, with maximum of 4GB per slot in 2 (2 banks of 1) memory slots.

The Dell Studio 1747 takes the PC3-8500 DDR3-1066 204pin SDRAM SODIMM Memory Type.


The best fit is 4GB 204Pin PC3-8500

If u will use faster, it will down clock down or it will not work!

but currently I have the 4GB (2*2GB) with 10600. and they are working properly without any problems, I beleive that this mainboard with the intel P55 can run the 12800 Mhz smoothly.
