It started 1 week ago. I have a MSI X48 Platinum MB with Intel dual core 2.4 CPU. I installed Windows 7 64bit os a legal licensed copy. Soon after I ordered a new CPU a Dual core quad 3.0 CPU. I had to flash the bios from 2.2 to 2.4 for the MB to see the processor. Every thing flashed well and the bios see's the CPU OK. When it booted into Windos 7 the blue screen of death appeared. And i tried everything and could not boot into Windows. So I went in reverse and Put my old processor back in the Dual 2.4 and everything booted fine. I have been going for 5 days now and cannot get the quad processor to boot to windows. The error from windows is on of those e00000000000x5 errors. I checked with MSI they suggested I reinstall the os with the quad cpu I tried that too and same problem with windows boot. Could the CPU be bad even though the bios see's it?

1. Clear CMOS.
2. Make sure RAM voltage is correct.
3. Manually set voltage and speed for the CPU and RAM.
4. Download and run Mentest86+ to check for RAM problems.
