The head of the cat really looks photoshop onto the body..

Could be. I just stole it from Google Images. 😀

LUDICROUS SPEED is great! Makes as much sense as the Galactica entering an atmosphere in flames and just before it smashes onto the ground going FTL without sucking the entire camp behind it! 8)

OK, let's be more sensible:

Poll:

Which has a better faster than light engine system:

Battlestar Galactica
Star Trek
Star Wars

what no improbability drive from hitchhikers?

gotta go with battlestar because their computers are as old as mine
:lol::lol::lol:
yeh that one pwned everything else. its faster than any of the engines, and you get to be anything you want to be!!!! (ok maybe not the "anything" part)

Even though it seems as though the topic has strayed off of its "off-topic" discussion of who has the best light speed thing...

Star Wars
Star Trek
Battlestar Galactica...

Well for some reason i recently saw Lost in Space (1998) the movie and well, take a look at its light speed drive..it can blast through the sun. Although it does lack accurate navigation, BUT it was was updated to navigation maps from the future because of...
its ability to create "time bubbles", which in itself is just cool and scary all at the same time.

So there now its between
Star Wars
Star Trek
Battlestar Galactica
Lost in Space(the movie)

Also one to consider is Event Horizon, very scary movie where somehow the ship trying to travel faster than light by as per the demonstration in the movie by Sam Neil "what is the fastest way to get from point A to point B, *as he writes in on peace of paper*, one would simply say a straight line, when its actually *folds peace of paper together* its when you bring point A and B together.

So there i've got one better than all of you, its FASTER than the speed of light, and someone thought it wasn't possible.

Answer is simple..

K10 wins performance/clk but low clocks will prevent it from beating Penryn.

I'm ready to wager on this too.

I completely agree, and not only are starwars LSC are > than anything. Not that the Death star could destroy any ship in BSG or ST, let alone planets. I must say though, ST had cool uniforms and nice tang. That Padamaridillo chick on SW didn't do it for me, I just know she a Jar-Jar were getting side action just like chewy and Leighahh were. Don't even get me started on what would go on with the E-woks and their jungle parties.

what is ''peryn''

Now as for FTL travel, sure it's easy for a bored, unsophisticated and unknowing screenwriter to put together all sorts of extrapolations about bending time by passing by the cover of Scientific American on his way to buy Hustler. It's a little bit more difficult to actually achieve that. We're all looking in the wrong direction. Getting to faraway planets is not going to be achieved by extending the naval metaphor into space. If it is ever to be achieved, it will likely be through coordinate synthesis of quantum entanglement and transport. But don't hold your breath! 😀

Here's a hilarious video that some of you guys on here might appreciate :) :

Yeah, I'd seen that before. It's badly edited but the concept is really good!

OK, who is the first one who can identify this quote from a luminary of our age?

"Space may be the final frontier, but it's made in a Hollywood basement."
