Hello,

My current specs:

Budget Range:300-500

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Photoshop for Photography, Graphic Design, Lightroom

Parts Not Required: Video Card is good.. Case? Would it help?

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Best Buy

Country of Origin: USA

Parts Preferences: Whatever works.

Overclocking: No clue?

SLI or Crossfire: What?

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080 on my 23" and 1440x900 on my 19" dual screens

Additional Comments:

Intel Core 2 CPU 6600 @2.40 GHz 2.39 GHz
3.00 GB RAM
32 bit Windows 7
ATI Radeon HD 5750
- Dual Monitors - 23" IPS and 19"
- I bought this graphics card not too long ago so it would be nice if I could upgrade the rest, unless this card is not that great and it would be smart to upgrade it
Internal 400 GB Hard Drive

I want to spend some money and upgrade my computer, I deal with alot of high res files and its fairly slow.

I hear AMD and Intel are releasing some new stuff soon, should I wait?
Do I upgrade my motherboard and RAM and then upgrade processor when the new ones come out?

Im fairly confused on what to get and when and if I should wait etc.

Any help would be awesome,

thanks.

I think if you want to do a full upgrade you're going to be spending a lot more than 300-500.
64 bit windows 7
either an i7, i5 or see how bulldozer performs. PS and lightroom both benefit from having as many cores as possible.
at least 8 gigs ram depending on image size.
You could probably get away with the ati card for now, but consider moving over to an nvidia card listed by adobe as supporting gpu accelerated tasks in PS.
