i have a polisher on a dremel should i use that to try and get a mirror finish?

Ehhh...i wouldnt use that, its worth the time just to do it with sand paper.

2000 sand paper is realy REALLY fine. That will give you a nice coat. After the 2k grit sandpaper i make one last run with toothpaste because that will give you an absoputely great finish.

Hope that helps ( ;

xtc28,
I hit higher clocks...3.8Ghz (Although I'll keep it lower, I OCed just for the benchmarks)
I borrowed a cooler from a friend for the test (still haven't bought one)
voltage 1.55-1.6 i think...don't remember exactly...
This is XP 32...try it, I think you will get higher scores...

Why not? 3DMark06 doesn't test ram...and it won't ever need a lot of it...
Are you saying that more than 4 gigs is gonna somehow affect the CPU performance?
Please clear this up for me...

No, Im saying with a nice combo of video cards i.e 3xgtx 285

Then that will be 3 gigs right from the video cards, and that limits u to one gig on the ram..

Or worst case scenario 3xgtx 285 2gb

You would have 6gb dedicated to the video cards there for it would not be utilizing all of this..

Obviusly it wouldnt affect your score to much because it is still a rediculously large amount of memory on the video card

Videl you are killing me on your CPU scores even @ at the higher speeds now. The only reason I get higher scores is because of my video card, other than thatyou kill me with that unlocked 550. I think it was originally meant to be a 955. Wow you got lucky!

Im gonna get two of them to replace the 7750's on my Mini-itx's in the desk after seeing these results. Unfortunately they will not unlock on these boards, but oh well. Some body give me a shot of a 550 @ 3.4 Ghz with only 2 cores in 3Dmark06 or vantage. I wanna see that CPU score, there is no need for any other tests to be run, just the CPU's.

XTC you have nothing to worry about as the Callisto is plenty fast as a dual core.... 3.5GHZ and it screams.....you will be able to get it to 3.9+ trust me.... just have to play with the voltages....

I only have 3dmark05 at home.... should i get 06 even if i am still running xp? Will there be any difference?

05 and 06 and Vantage are NOT compareable to each other, in terms of scores. Actually I wanted to see cpu scores of the 550 so I could compare them to the 7750 BE. This has been a very good processor for me @ 3.0 Ghz I get a score of 2577 in 3DMARK06. If the 550 beats it (Im sure it will) I will get some of them.

Anyway scores are not neccessary now I did a little research, read a few threads and it seems that my 7750 is actually doing pretty nice. It is actually geting better scores than the calisto's I have seen posted in other threads at higher clocks. Im going to stick with it for now until I Ugrade to quads.

Another option is wait till the x4 965BE 3.4 GHZ comes out.... but that is going to be $$$$..... Should be able to get 4.5Ghz easy....

Dont know why it has not been released yet, a couple of websites posted a July 10th release date, but it looks like its been pushed back....

Yeah it is gonna be some $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I am getting one but only to replace my 940. Ill run my original 940 in one of the zotac mini-itx and get another for the second zotac. That will prolly do me for a while atleast till tax time when I can get 4 more M-itx mobo's (2 intel 775/Q66 2 AMD am2+/7750), untill I can upgrade to more quads. I also am getting 2 tesla cards at tax season. That will give me 6 m-itx with 4 quads and 2 Duals, 1 PII 965 on a ga-ma790x-ud4p and a multitude of HDD space 1.5Tb x2 per mobo. Wow! I cant wait!

It does mine too ....................................... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.......OOps I better shut my mouth over all this exposed hardware, before I get saliva on something important.

No that is a full size mobo ATX I use something that is much smaller than this ATX= 12" x 9.6" Mini-ITX = 6.75" x 6.7.5". There is only one reason I have chosen the M-ITX solution. I do not have enough room for full sized ATX motherboards in the back of the desk. only M-ITX will fit. on top of that I can get 4 of them mounted per desk compaerd to 2 per desk if I were using ATX.

This is the board I use: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813500021

HAHA nice,

What os are u gunna be running on the teslas?

And can you run those with another video card?

The OS is not really a big deal. You must first right C++ scripts to even use them to begin with. Almost any OS will work for this. As for my OS of choice is really a multitude of OSes. First I Use a custom kernal of Ubuntu linux with a clustering software known as Kerrighed (this is to allow for clustering of all nodes or mobos), Second I have many Oses installed in Virtual machines MAC included. Third I have one profile that lets me use a virtual machine that takes advantage of every core and all the ram I can throw at it, this is were the teslas would come in handy.

As for using them with video cards, the answer is yes. They are not really G-cards to begin with, they have no Video outputs. Teslas are specifically for GPGPU or GPU Enhanced processing.

Full size? It says microATX..... kinda confused here.....

Anyways that should work fine, cause I have the same glass desk that you have, if not similar....but i will not be installing a spin-Q, maybe an Artic Freezer 64 or something cheaper.....

Sorry man! Anything bigger than M-itx is full sized to me...... lol
Flippin COOL man........
BUt Im sorry if you in tend to use the same desk As I have chosen, A micro will not fit MINI-ITX is the only way to go. Except the corner piece where I have built brackets for this porpuse. The Spin-Q is great for this project as I tried to use several other heatsinks in the same temp catagory ......... all too big. The location of the board also has to have enough clearance for a video card if you are thinking this route. Its realy not possible without and angle adapter unless low profile is your thing (8800 gt low profile PCI-e x1) card worked great on the zotac Mini-ITX, although it was not as fast as its full sized counter parts.

Not just that but it looks BADASS aswell!! [:jaydeejohn:4]
