Everytime I install my PCYV Rave card my SATA drive does not boot. They
still show up in My Computer as Local Disks F & G but without total size and
free space info and when I click on the drives it gives me an error message
such as,

F:\is not accessible
The file or directory is corrupted or unreadable.

When I remove the card everything is OK. But the drive often does maintence
on bootup, but at least works afterward.

Drive is a Maxtor 120 GB SATA. Controller card is Silicon Image 3112.

Thanks

Two thoughts on that. First, update the chipset (motherboard) drivers.
Second, try updating the BIOS. Also, have you installed any software
for the device or is this happening even without the software being
installed?

Try using a different slot for the card, it may be hammering on the same
PCI interupt as the SATA drive.
