Hi ,

I'm looking to get a new PCI Express Graphic Card,

I'm concerned about picking the right one, Someone mentioned before
when choosing a card the most important thing to look at is to look at the structure first (amount of pipes) ...

I was looking at these items :

1.Nvidia Gforce 6600GT with 8 pipes 128memory Size and Bus 525Core/1100MHZ Price around 150 USD
2.ATI X1600Pro with 12 pipes 128Memory size and Bus 575Core/1300Mhz Price around 140 USD
3.ATI x800GTO with 12pipes 256Memory size and Bus 400Core/980Mhz
Price around 180 USD

I'm leaning towards the X1600Pro, but i'm not sure. I am not a big gamer but want a super fast operating video interface allround.

please advise

i thought the x1600 was 4 pipe and 16 pixel shader..

Please stop with the "pipe" comments. A number of people have already explained that the term pipe is not only irrelevant, but that it does not apply to the new ATI cards. Meaningless metric.

Fragment shaders don't make a pipe, ROPs don't make a pipe, nor do TMUs.

There is no pipe.
