Placing cooling kit outside case?

I bought a 100i and it does not fit inside my case, however I want to keep the kit as it does bring my temps down tremendously. I have the 100i duct taped on the top of my case to keep it from wiggling around and I'm allowing room for the fans to do the business. Is this a problem? Should I just go with a smaller form factor for a cooling kit or can I keep my ghetto setup?

I'm no expert but i'd have thought having the radiator outside the case would actually benefit performance, inside the case would be a lot warmer than your room temp
I don't know, I mean it makes sense to have it outside but I see people mount the radiator on the top part of their case (on the inside) and all the tutorials on YouTube all say to mount it inside, but my setup is outside the case and it's not stressing any tubes or anything (the 100i tubes are real short) and I'm still getting good temps so I guess its all good.
