Hello,

I received my PCT2785, and neither Win7 nor Win8 find the WEBCAM.

The manual does not show the "Mic" output connector on the interface panel drawing that the WEBCAM installation page refers to.

PLANAR Support relied with a generic email that referenced an attachment that was not in the email. Now facing a weekend before further correspondence is possible.

It appears that this model (PCT2785) does not have the WEBCAM that the specifications state is included.

Has anyone else been succesful with their OS finding the WEBCAM?

UPDATE 11/19/2012

PLANAR Support was quick to respond via email (Monday morning) and very helpful. Called the Support number in the email, and was immediately connected to a tech. Diagnosis points to a defective WEBCAM Circuit Board, which also contains the Microphone which also did not work.

They also clarified the "Mic" Connection. The Headphone Output Jack on the Monitor is used to send the Microphone Audio to the computer.

PLANAR asked me to report the Monitor as DOA to Newegg, from whom I ordered the Monitor. PLANAR also said that if there was any problem returning the Monitor to Newegg, call them back and they would handle a replacement.

Defective Monitor on it's way back to Newegg as I write this, and replacement ordered and enroute.

I will update when the new Monitor arrives.

Looks like it's going to be Tuesday (11/27) before the new Monitor arrives. I know that the Thanksgiving Holiday impacted the delivery, but excluding the day that I ordered the replacement, it's taking 4 days for the "3 day Newegg shipping" to arrive. This Monitor is coming out of PA. The first one out of TX.

Again, I'll update as soon as it arrives and "hopefully" the WEBCAM works.

The replacement PCT2785 arrived today. Installation was seamless, and both the WEBCAM and Mic work per the Specs.

Display is awesome and touch point calibration is very accurate.

I had ordered a 27" Dell XPS 27, but the ever increasing delivery times resulted in my cancelling that and just buying this Touch Screen Monitor. It is probably the best thing that could have happened, as now I can upgrade or replace the basic computer and retain the Touch Screen capabilities.

Since I am just a general user, I doubt that I will ever notice the difference that the 2560X1440 Dell display would have made over the 1920X1080 of the PLANAR.

I am finding that there are many situations where the touch screen is very handy, as an example when viewing a document it is intuitive to be able to use the touch feature to scroll through the document. Other activities area still better handled with my Trackball, but it's like having the best of both worlds.

Now, back to playing with the new toy.
