Planning a new build. Will these go together?

Hi guys. I am planning on stripping out my old pc and basically rebuilding it. But I have never done this before, so I wanted to know what people think about it. I think they should all fit, but I wanted to doublecheck.
My old mother board is a microATX, and since I wanted to reuse the case, I thought about mentioning that.

(I dont care about the overclock feature btw.)

GPU: EVGA Nvidia GTX550Ti 1GB 192-Bit (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nvidia-GTX5...1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1356656276&sr=1-2)

PSU: I have an old but very good 500w psu that I thought about reusing, though I am unsure if it will have enough power. Or should I buy a new one? hard drive - 64 gb ssd/1 tera 7200 rpm harddrive

Ram: orsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 8GB 1600MHz CL9 DDR3



Would all things go together?

Would you guys recommend the setting?

What I am going for is a budget gaming rig, but I will certainly not overclock, so i think a cheap motherboard should be ok.

Whats your old PSU's brand? It would be fine if it was a decent brand. You could get the non-K version of the CPU if you do not plan to OC. Also, because you picked a 2nd gen board, unless it is specifically advertised it will require a BIOS update to use an Ivy CPU in.

1. Make sure that ur board supports Intel 3rd generation processors (Guess BIOS update should work..)
2.If u don't need overclocking for sure go for Intel Core i5-3570 (u can save of bunch of money here..)
3. No problem for 500W for ur PC.. If its too old make sure u have connectors for all components.
4. If u don't have plan for upgrading to 16GB RAM in future i suggest u for 2x 2GB.
5 And no problem with your GPU..

I am currently on the PC that I want to update, and will check for the PSU brand a bit later, BUT, just in case, if I try to use this PSU first, to see if it is sufficient, could i damage my new gear?

About the over-clocking. I know the k stands for overklocking and that i could buy the one without, but since the price difference now is 1 pound on amazon, i though what the hell


About the motherboard:
I am not sure what a BIOS update is, is it hard to do, and does it cost money? Also, will it give me a notably better performance if i use a board designed for 3rd gen i5? Or just a bunch of features that I as an average user will likely never notice.

Sorry guys, I know its a bunch of questions, but I am on a limited budget and I am trying to get the best possible result out of it.

BIOS is what you configure your build in once it has booted! Its relatively easy and totally free, and most motherboards use a UEFI BIOS which is very user friendly, and if not theres always videos and info on the internet to help you! It is also what most people use to perform the overclocks so you should get familiar with it if you want to take full advantage of the extra pound! 😀
