[SOLVED] Planning to buy a laptop. Just based on this, which is better?

Solution
I would prefer the Ryzen version, however the $100 price difference you mentioned is not worth it. Consider that the Intel version will probably use more battery, if you care about the battery life of the laptop.
You should. The laptops always run on battery, even when plugged in. The difference is that when line voltages are present, the OS allows the full 25w or so, without line voltages, it cuts it back to 15w±.

The issue is that with higher power systems, the line voltage cannot charge the battery at the same rate of discharge, mostly due to heat issues of the battery, so during a lengthy and intense gaming session, you'll find that all of a sudden the laptop can and will cut back to its 15w power plan in order to let the...
The Intel is better than the Ryzen in cpu tasks, especially with the Adaptix enabled.

The MX130 is a renamed 940 from 2017, but is still a discrete gpu, and has a slight edge (very slight) over the fantastic Vega 8 igpu.

However, that all comes at a cost, namely heat. Neither will do PUGB very well, even on low settings, but you'll be cooking the Intel just trying, the AMD will run considerably cooler, no added graphics card wattage to deal with.

if everything else is the same, ram(8gb), storage(512) and screen size, but then the ryzen one is 100$ more

Based on the specifications given by you, I’d rate the Intel i5-10210U as a better option since it is regarded to be the best performance processor of the two. The Intel is certainly costly compared to Ryzen 5 3500U but the performance will help you complete your computing tasks, play games, and so on in a much better manner. That does not mean the Ryzen is poor, I simply rate Intel i5 to be a better performance tool. The AMD Ryzen is a much better processor in terms of the pricing, which is one of its strong aspects for sure. If budget is your main concern then you should definitely go for the AMD Ryzen 5.

It’s a pleasure to be of your assistance. Do reach out if you have any specific requirements regarding the same! Cheers.

Buh bye fps.

That'll affect the Intel with the discrete gpu far more than the Amd igpu.

The Intel might perform slightly better overall, but the amd will be chugging along somewhat cooler, for longer. That can make a difference between a 1hr after-school quickie bash, and an all-day Saturday gaming marathon.
