playing nekkid?

A few years ago when i used to play on Bnet a little, there was a starting
fad of playing nekkid. Is this still viable in 1.10? If so, does anyone have
any suggestions on a build that will work. In case you don't know what
playing nekkid is, you cannot use any equipment that alters your characters
appearance, ie. helms, armor, weapons, and boots i believe. Rings, gloves,
belts, and jewlery is ok.

My old guide is still mostly applicable:

The only major 1.10-thing I haven't taken into account is synergies, which
if anything make it even more viable. (There's new rune-words, but no
socketable items are allowed by Nekkid rules, other than circlets, which may
optionally be allowed.) A Nekkid Sorc with maxed Enchant, Warmth, and Fire
Mastery could be quite effective at least through NM. After that, the FIs
will be a serious problem.

If you're only concerned about appearances, then go with the display
bug that blizzard refuses to fix: if you don't have enough natural
strength or dexterity points to use an item but have +str or +dex
charms that make up the difference, then you can use the item but it
won't display for other players.

For instance, a sorceress with 14 natural dexterity points and one +1
dexterity charm can equip and use a pluckeye unique short bow, but the
bow won't be visible to other players. When the sorceress shoots
arrows, she'll look like she's lobbing them with her hands (or perhaps
shooting them out her nose). This can look hilarious if she's mowing
down cows with a high-level enchant.

Also remember that circlets aren't visible, so kira's guardian would
help with resists a lot. I believe the same is true for dusk shrouds.

You can put together quite an outfit if you keep the item requirements
within a reasonable range, e.g. steelrends gloves (185 str), "chains of
honor" kraken shell (174 str), "spirit" runeword ward (185 str), etc..
If you're really clever, you can try to remember which order the items
are displayed in and stack the strength and dexterity bonuses on your
items accordingly, but I don't recall the order off the top of my head.

I would be PROUD to have such an epithet.

Anex.....Explodeazon, oooh, wait. I see. Ok, I would want an * with an
explanation chiseled into it so my progeny wouldn't think I was like, nuts,
or something.

Dusk shrouds change the appearance, if only slightly. My firestrafer is
wearing a Gloom armour, which gives her some grey epaulets.

I often see Sorcs wearing the complete Tal-Rasha's set, but looking like
they're Nekkid. You can tell they've got the set, because they have the
pretty aura, but since they don't have enough natural strength points for
the armor, it looks like they're wearing nothing at all. (Though you can
see the orb, of course, but the rest of it doesn't show.)
