I am having a difficult time choosing a mid - low end motherboard for a new system. The following will be used for it as I already have it: E6750, 4 X 1GB OCZ Platinum 800mhz Memory, WD 74GB Raptor, 2 X 200GB PATA

I would also like to have 1394 on the MB but that is not a deal breaker. Budget is $130 or less.

If I choose a 650i solution I can use my old PATA drives.
Considering the MSI P6N Platinum as it seems it can do everything I want. Can it be overclocked with a standard 1333mhz FSB? I am a little concerned about the board quality as well.

If I don't go that route I would go P35 and am considering the Asus P5K or the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L

SLI is not that important to me at this point.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Ken.

This would be the board I'd go with. It's $9 more than your budget but would be worth it. The problem with onboard firewire is it usually comes with SLI. There's also an ASUS P5K that has firewire that's a little less expensive, can't remember the difference of the top of my head but whatever it was I thought it was worth the money. The problem is that at best you'll get 3 PCI slots and why take one for firewire when the card will cost almost as much as a board that comes with it. The Gigabyte P35 DS3L is a nice board but one 2 PCI slots and no onboard firewire.
