Please Help (GPU Problem)

well, first of all i cant show a screen shot because the screen caps are perfect, but i i my pc has been on for 10/15 mins or if i start a graphically intensive program i get green lines down my screen the screen distorts, then from when i rebbot there are green lines until after the log in screen where the screen just goes black i have cleared out my case cleaned my gpu & plugged it back in & after a few attempts it goes back to normal for a short period.

it is not overclocked, but my cpu is,
its an VTX amd radeon hd 6790 & i THINK (im no where near an expert on the subject) it may be the thermal paste
