I've been having problems with my PCI-Express Wi-Fi adapter for the last week now and it's irritating me to the point of madness.

So, I am in student halls, I get a steady 150mbps up/down on all my other wifi enabled devices, but my desktop PC doesn't reach anywhere near these speeds.

The last few days it has been struggling to get over 10mbps up/down

I found a EXTREMELY TEMPORARY FIX (literally fixes for 5 minutes) which involved me installing the Archer T4E drives for my card and then proceeding to uninstall them??

Why does this get my speeds back?!

Then occasionally the speeds come back again - extremely intermittently.

I have tried, changing my DNS, reseating the card, reattaching the antennas, other driver versions. EVERYTHING.

Please help.

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

On your desktop PC run "ipconfig /all" (without quotes) via the Command Prompt.

Post the results. You should be able to copy and paste the results with no need to retype everything.

The problem may be heat related. The adapter cools down during the driver reinstallation/reconfiguration process.

Inside the Desktop

Power down, unplug, open the case.

Clean out dust and debris.

Verify that all cards, connectors, RAM, jumpers, fans, and case connections are fully and firmly in place.

Use a bright flashlight to inpect for signs of damage.
