Please help my computer is not booting up

I recently bought all the parts for my new PC.

Me and a friend out then together and it powered up but then went off. This lead me to believe it was the power supply, so we hooked my powers supply into my friends PC and it worked great. Please help I have no idea what to do.

Take the system apart and put it back together. You may have a short with the motherboard touching something or maybe hooked up a wire wrong.

If you made sure the power supply works in another system, it's likely not to happen. If it does you may have a bad component. A bad motherboard may cause this also.

Make sure the MOBO isn't contacting any part of the case chassis. I've seen systems short out because of this before.

I actually did not check your system specs, but you are right, it may be the issue. You seemed to have picked the power supply based on price. I would go up to a 500 watt PSU.

The 420 watt PSU you have should in theory be enough to run the system, but it's not leaving much room for power loss due to real world use. Take a look at this model http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182298 it has a $20 rebate card with it.
