2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? 14 inch

3. What screen resolution do you want? HD

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? Portable

5. How much battery life do you need? 7 hours, browsing, email, printing, scanning docs.

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)? NO Gaming.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.) see number 5 above.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need? >50 Gb SSD

9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links. Amazon, NewEgg, Frys.

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop? 10 years.

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ? Need USB ports only and Ethernet port and HDMI port.

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons. Name brands incl Asus, Lenovo, Acer, HP?

13. What country do you live in? USA.

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed. Upon acquiring laptop, I will remove Windows OS and install Linux OS so laptop must have strong wireless capable wifi card, robust keyboard, and battery life under normal web use of 7 hours.

Thank you for the links and my experience is that some laptops exhibit weak wireless signal capture and retention and battery life may drop substantially under "normal" use. For example, my Acer Aspire 1 battery life dropped from 7 plus hours under web browsing and email checking to less than 1.5 hours in less than 3 years of use and my wireless chip in the laptop shows variable bandwidth under the same use. Very disappointing! Keys "jump" on my Acer Aspire kb when struck. Very unexpected in a laptop that received less than 30 minutes of use each week.
