So I have no idea what this is, and im scared to touch it or bend it out of the way until i know for sure it is safe to do so. I can only surmise this was something on the motherboard's shield that got in the way somehow, but i dont know for sure.

I have an Asrock Taichi X370.
Please advise as i would like to use this port for my Elgato HD 60S.

Thank you in advance!

The correct thing to do is to remove your mobo, bend the tab on the backplane out of the way and put the motherboard back.
One aspect of this tabs use is to provide a case ground to your USB connection.

Super common mess up. I have done it WAY too many times.

Yes, you can bend it out of the way. In fact, I'd recommend you snip it off if you can.
Ah, ok i will look into that. Appreciated!

Glad to know this is an easy thing to screw up! lol So it's to stop electrical noise from interfering with the port and its just supposed to be behind it. Gotcha. I'll look into this as well, though this mobo is super hard to remove.

Thank you both very much for the replies! that's all I needed : )
