Hi everyone I know that I have a low profile Vcard, but its all I get for the money ive got. Since a short time ive been having problems with my VCARd (powercolor 9250 agp 128mb 64bit), 🙁 now the problem is that no matter which driver i use, new or old, it always is making the screen torn with a lot of green points and green sahdows of the opened windows; i have a screenshot but i dont have where to put it so if anyone can help me i will send it so you can seeit with your own eyes how disgusting it is............THX

artifacts.. sounds like ur card is either on its way out or overheating. Trying cleaning it. Get a can of dust blower and take it to hte video card heatsink and fan. If that doesnt help. Take hte heatsink and fan off and clean off the old (now possibly tried thermal compound). Buy a thing of Artic Silver 5 and apply it. REattached heatsink & fan and see if that helps. If not.. New Card time. OR u can just skip all that and go strait to the new card. a New 9250 is like 50 dollars now if not less.

Here are the steps that you should take, in the right order:

1) Open the case, and check the GPU fan. Is it clogged with dust? If so, buy a can of compressed air, and blow out the cobwebs. But first take the card out of the case and out of your house. If the fan isn't clogged with dust, skip blowing it out, and move on to step 2

2) Take off the GPU cooler. Get some isoproyl alcohol, and clean off the thermal goo. Buy some Arctic Silver, and apply a very small dab (about the size of a grain of rice) of that on the GPU core. Put the cooler back on. If that doesn't work, move on to step 3

3) Buy a new video card, like THIS 9600Pro for $33. A 9600Pro will totally KILL your current card in all games and 3D apps.

Thanks angry_ducky and weilin for your help i didnt do exactly what you told me because of couldn t get the artic silver but I do everything else and the video card its working again, I only have one question I live in Colombia and i cant find Artic Silver 5, you both tell me about it but I dont know what is it and no way to find it here, i try to buy something similar but i preffer not before asking you,.........besides my V-card doesnt have a fan only a heatsink.......its working nice with the last driver and I hope it still this way for a long time:)...... 😀 or at least until I can buy a better one...........THX

ehh artic silver 5 is a thermal conduction compound that is applied to both the heatsink and core of the video card. Its designed to fill in microscopic gaps in the heatsink so that there is optimum contact to transfer heat away from the core of hte video card to the heatsink. The heatsink will then dissapate it into the air. If you can get anything similar it would also work. Just make sure it conducts heat really well and doesnt dry out really fast.

About my Vcard problem I'm trying to fix it, a friend of mine tolds me that maybe if I use a fan over my heatsink it would help me with my overheating problem, the only trouble I had is that I have no idea how to install it or adapt one....if anyone could helpme please...ahhhhh and other thing, if I cant solve this problem I would thank if anybody could say me which of the next cards it's better for games and video watching....THX
