Please recommend Gaming PC parts for me!!

Hey,

I would love a recommended system!!

My budget is about £520 at the max, I live in the UK, I know a shop that assembles PC's so I can happily buy parts and get hime to build the system, I'm just looking for at least:

1TB HDD
3Ghz Quad CPU or better [ I'm really not sure whether to get AMD since Bulldozer is coming or Intel, btw I need the computer this week so I won't be waiting for Bulldozer ]
4GB RAM
Graphics card that can play all the latest games in max settings at 1080p
!!!AM3+ Motherboard!!! ----> If AMD CPU, not sure about any Intel Motherboards
PSU [not sure at all]
A case, doesn't need to be fancy, but doesn't need to be boring
A DVD drive [obviously :p]
If I've missed anything please include, I'm not a PC pro :D

Seperate out of the £520 I need a 1080p monitor, keyboard and mouse, any suggestions?

I will be gaming so I need a decent mouse and keyboard for the cheapest price, thanks!

It's going to be hard to meet all your specs with only 520...which is about $800. Especially if you need a video card that can play all the latest games on max at 1080. Do you have any monetary room?

To start off I'd recommend and Intel i5 2500k...great for gaming but that alone costs $219

You obviously didn't read my post. The main part you missed: "...with only 520...which is about $800. " Your rig so far with only those 4 parts is ~ $870

didn't know that, sorry :) so maybe we can recommend one of Tom's Marathon 1000$ PC, but it won't be that good for gaming and it will be Intel based PC

Yeah it's a tough one...Euros make it out to about $750 which is even cheaper! Your recommendation of a 6970 is good but he'd have to sacrifice a lot like a high-end cpu and definitely an SSD.

GreenMarine - don't know if there's any system you can get for 520 lbs that can play all the latest games at extreme settings :(

ahhh, I don't mind playing at lower settings, don't worry, I just need to good builds that can run games for £520 or maybe a bit more.

I have 1 week before I really need to build this however, starting college

it's not necessarily older just weaker. I'd say your best bet is the 560 fermi. you'll be able to run all games at least on "high" and it'll stay a great video card for at least another 2 years. if you went just a little bit higher you could afford a great machine with excellent parts...do you have any idea which cpu you're looking into?

I didn't include keyboard/mouse because those are pretty easy to come by or pick out yourself. I went with a .5TB drive because it's a solid drive with a 5 year warrenty. Plus, people often overestimate how much space they need on a HDD. Upgrading to 1tb should only cost 10-20$.

Comes out to around 820$ or ~500 British pounds

monitor is out of the budget, he can save this money for better GPU and better PSU
