Thanks for responding so fast Blackbird, would you mind just quickly looking over my complete parts list? I've tried checking on building sites but they don't have the Z97 in their database

Why not just try newegg or amazon? They have z97's available. Find out the number of USB ports you need and use that as your base. That's what I usually do, also if you need SLI and what not. I think you have a great choice there already. The MAXIMUS series is fantastic, just too expensive for my tastes.

Wouldn't 1 SSD be better than 2? Unless he is raiding them.

Fair enough. How about the RAM. Wouldn't it be better to get 1 set of 16gb rather than 2 sets of 8. More cost effective and better compatability.

Btw I already have the SSDs and RAM, they're 2 and 4 sticks respectively because they're upgrades rather than original build.
