Hello,
  • I want to buy a computer for gaming purposes (all game types except FPS)
  • The budget would be around 1900 USD
  • I don't really have much knowledge about the hardware, so the list I created was based on the rankings I found the internet
  • I have no idea about motherboard or cooler
  • I prefer Intel for CPU and nVidia for GPU
  • My monitor: LG 27GN950-B Link to Amazon
    Display Resolution Maximum 3840 x 2160 Pixels
  • As per point above, if you have any suggestions I would be glad to hear it, for example:
a) do I need power supply 850 or 750 would actually be ok?

List 1:
https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Hronic/saved/fscxf7

List 2:
https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Hronic/saved/xZxg3C

I generally have dilemma on the following:
Which CPUs -> how valuable it is to invest in it :
  • Intel Core i5‑13400F
  • Intel Core i5-13600KF
  • Intel Core i3-12100F
Graphic cards:
  • GeForce 3080
  • GeForce 4070 TI

Thank you for the answer, I'd like to understand the reason behind changes:
  1. Why changing Gigabyte B660M DS3H DDR4 for Gigabyte B760 GAMING X DDR4?
  2. Why Intel Core i5-12400F instead Intel Core i5-13400F 2.5 GHz 10-Core Processor? (Purely budget or I simply don't need better model?)
  3. Endorfy Fera 5 CPU would be enough, I read about overheating?
  4. Corsair has sightly worse memory timing (3200 vs 3600) than kingston but 32 GB instead16 would be a better choice?
  5. What about this Case "Silver Monkey X Fence TG"

1, That B760 has much better VRM's than the DS3H so you won't have to worry about thermal throttling.

2.The 12400F gives you similar frame rates as the 13400F and does it for cheaper.

3. The 12400F has a max turbo boost of 117 watts ... that cpu runs cool. You will be fine with that cpu cooler.

4. If the Kingston fits your budget then I would take that over the Corsair I linked.

On the cpu, 13th gen processors have better single thread performance which is what you want for games like sims, mmo and strategy games.
To that end, the I5-13600KF is the strongest.
And, buy the non K version; the $25 savings is not worth it.
Whenever you have a graphics issue, the non F version lets you run integrated graphics to help sort things out.

B660 or B760 DDR4 motherboards are fine.
Intel is not dependent on fast ram for performance. But, you may find a 3600 speed kit at about the same price.

I advise against liquid cooling in most cases. Including here.
Did you know that aio coolers do not last forever?
In time air intrudes through the tubes or the mechanical pump fails or gets clogged.
Think 5 years.
If you buy the 13400, it will come with a workable cooler.
For the 13600K, a good twin tower air cooler will be plenty and will perform as well as a 280 size liquid cooler at a lower price.
My top candidate would be the noctua NH-D15s which is particularly quiet.

You are smart to buy a 850w psu with a 10 year warranty.
Modern graphics cards can have power spikes. Even 950w is not wrong,
A psu will only draw the power demanded of it, regardless of the max capability.
Seasonic focus and Corsair Rm are good alternatives.

The case is good.
You need a couple of 140mm front intake fans and a 120mm rear exit fan. I do not think these are included with your case.

Hey,
a friend of mine advised, to invest into 13600K (as you mentioned above)

I modified the list by changing CPU, Case and cooler.
https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Hronic/saved/MXqH3C

  1. Is it worth investing into this CPU instead of 13400?
  2. Is 32GB RAM a worthless investment and 16 is ok?
  3. All components, are ok?

Thanks

Worth is something only YOU can determine.
There is a continuing increase in performance as you buy more expensive processors.
My take is that if you can pay for it, buy the better product.
The price hurts for a little while.
The second guessing lasts for much longer, wondering if you did the right thing.

Many today are buying 32gb.
No game, by itself will need more than 16gb.
But, if you will also be multitasking, then added ram is helpful.
Considering the relatively low price for 32gb, I would be inclined to do that.

If you mainly play only a few games, 1tb ssd is ok. You can always add more storage later. I seem to do ok with 1tb.
At the risk of busting the budget, which you may or may not do, I would consider 2tb.

That board isn't going to handle that 13600K when it goes into turbo boost. You will experience thermal throttling.

Modern Intel processors and motherboards will attempt to boost performance up to the point of throttling. That point is 100c.
Nothing wrong with that, so long as the processor keeps running and not shutting down.
A well ventilated case and a good cooler will allow increased performance at the 100c. target.
Why_Me has a point; there are better motherboards at a similar price that have better power delivery and vrm cooling like this MSI MAG B660M Bazooka:
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813144528?Item=N82E16813144528
There are others.
You will still see thermal throttling, just that it will happen at a higher performance level.
How important is this??
Not too much, really. The 13th gen processors are so darn strong that it likely matters little.
