my specs:

e8500 core2duo 3.16 Ghz
Dolgix 8GB (2*4GB) DDR3 RAM 1333MHz
Asus NVIDIA GeForce 210 1 GB DDR3 Graphics Card
ZEB-G41-D3, LGA 775 Socket
1 PCI Express x16 slot

I am looking to upgrade to low-end 2 GB graphics card (not a gaming freak) for photoshop and editing purpose.

Please suggest low-end GPU for G41 Motherboard, LGA 775 and core2duo processor.
Does a DDR3 or DDR5 will work?
Thanks in advance.

Solution
GT 1030 or GTX 1050 should work. The latter card would be better if your PCIe slot provides 75w. Have a look for wattage description near the PCIe slot, hopefully it's written there somewhere near it.

Doesn't matter what Vram type the card uses, there's no connection between it and motherboard ram.

What PSU do you have?

Thanks for fast reply; but I'm very short on budget so looking for GT 710 2 GB card range only. I checked on Amazon for these cards; but there are DDR3 and DDR5 variants.

I want to know which is compatible with my zeb-d3 G41 motherboard? Or Both?
My PSu is
  • Zebronics 450 Watt Economy Power Supply
  • AC 230V 50Hz 3.5A input
  • 80mm exhaust fan
  • 3 pin power cable included Connectors
Please, if you have info, suggest on gt 710 only. can you give amazon links for that. Thanks, once again.

Oh in that case GDDR5 is much faster than DDR3 and is compatible since you're already running a 710. Vram type doesn't matter concerning compatibility.

710 is a pretty weak card though but if you're sorta fine with it now, the GDDR5 variant should be somewhat better.

GT 1030 is significantly faster though, if you can find it second hand.

I'd be looking at a GT 730 with 2GB or 4GB of (G)DDR5 VRAM.

Thanks, bro; gt 730; I considered; but really tight on budget; hence specifically searching for variants in gt 710 2 gb only(strictly). Please suggest which company brand should I go for( Asus, gigabyte or msi or galax or zotac). can you send amazon links?

No, Im not running 710 card; I have currently GT 210 low profile 1GB or 512mb card.
GT 710, i am looking to upgrade. Please suggest which company brand should I go for( Asus, gigabyte or msi or galax or zotac). can you send amazon links?

Given the tight budget, I don't think you need to be worrying about brand names. Go to amazon.com and do a search on "geforce gt 710 2gb low profile". That will give you some options on GT 710s (and a few others you can disregard).

I recently installed Gigabyte GT 710 2 GB DDR3 low profile graphics card; Initially it was working fine and tested it by playing games for 4 hours continuously; but when i restarted the system; it hanged and showed black screen; i restarted multiple times, but the same result;
I tried it on other hard disk; but even that hard disk got hanged and started behaving the same way;

So I reinstalled my old graphic card Geforce 210; and everything started working fine on both the hard disk;

WHAT COULD BE THE ISSUE?

My Specs are:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 @ 3.16 Ghz
Dolgix 8GB (2*4GB) DDR3 RAM 1333MHz
Asus NVIDIA GeForce 210 1 GB DDR3 Graphics Card (previous card)
480 ggb SSD Adata
ZEB-G41-D3, LGA 775 Socket
1 PCI Express x16 slot
Zebronics ZEB450W (DSATA 20 and 4 Pin) Economy Series Desktop Power Supply SMPS with Power Cable
Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64 bit OS

Oops sorry lol my mistake. Any 710 brand you can get your hands on. They're all good.

As for sale links, that can vary day to day so whichever is on offer at the time of your searching.

Could only mean there's something wrong with the 710. Getting it tested somehow, at a local PC shop or friends, would be next step.

Oh, thankss, you replied; I was desperately waiting for an answer; i started a new thread but nobody replied;

So there's no issue with my 450W Zebronics power supply; I dnot need to upgrade?
Just replace gt 710?
I bought it on c2c site, 2nd hand.

Also, can u suggest how to do stress test on gpu; when u buy from a c2c site (ebay)?

Psu is an unknown brand to me but the 710 doesn't consume a lot of power so it most likely be fine. I couldn't suggest changing it unless you were to overhaul.

rtx 2060 wont work on windows with pcie1.1,
after installing drivers you'll get black screen upon windows boot,
only pcie2.0 and later supported,
also there were reports that even gtx1660 showed same behavior,
i wonder if linux drivers have same issues... pity because xeon e5450 still demonstrate enough performance with many games provided you have fast GPU
