Hey guys, been busy picking parts for my first ever gaming build and this is what I came up with after a lot of researching:

CPU: Intel i5 3470
Graphics Card: Sapphire HD7870 Ghz edition
Motherboard: AsRock h77m
Memory: Corsair vengeance 2x4GB
Case: Antec three hundred 2
Optical Drive: LG GH24NS70
HDD: WD green 1TB WD10EZRX
Optical Drive: LG GH24NS70
PSU: Corsair CX 500WATT
Mouse: Logitech G400
Monitor: Samsung 23'' S23B550VS/EN

Please tell me what you guys think. Is everything compatible etc.? And could it get some improvement without becoming more expensive? Also I'm not sure whether I need a mouse that's this good for gaming, so please give me some advice on that as well

Everything is compatible.
Easy way to improve is to get a proper 7200RPM drive like a Seagate Barracuda or WD Black. A Green drive for your OS does not a fast system make.

Othwerwise, its all good.

Ok thanks! Will the Seagate Barracuda 1TB (ST1000DM003) be better then? It's not a lot more expensive so that'd be good

One thing, you have a micro mobo and a full size case. Is that what you wanted? Never mind..I guess the m is on both boards.

yeah I don't really care about the mobo size as long as it has the functions I want and the case had some good reviews and I like the look so I guess I'll just stick with this

Ok, taking a second look, I think that I maybe should go with the antec 300 instead of the 300 2 because the 300 is mid-size and will still fit all my parts inside and is a couple bucks cheaper. Right...?

that would be faster, an ssd like a Samsung 840 or Mushkin Enhanced Chronos Deluxe MX would be the fastest with the 1tb hdd for backup and apps.
