Plextor or Creative?

I understand the Creative 12x10x32 CD/RW is a rebranded Plextor. They are both around the same price thus it looks like the only difference is the S/W bundled with the drive.

Which has better S/W? Which is better, the Adaptec or Nero Burning ROM S/W?

I think more would say that Nero is better. However, personal preference does count here.

Watch out for re-brands. Some are inferior to the original. I'm not sure about this case, but this is just a general warning. Do the research to make sure the Plextor and Creative are indeed exactly the same.

Nero!
Adaptec is Newbie´s software! Just the basic!
The Plextor should be better !
Well , they make the drive (Creative is a Plextor in fact!),
and when some new firmware get out from Plextor you can use
it right away! Creative , i think has to work them a little
so it should take some time to solve any problem that might occur! ( Crative is known to take ages to relese new drivers
for their products!)

Even if they are the same drive, Plextor is known to have better support just in case you need it. And as someone else mentioned, you'll be able to use new drivers sooner with the Plextor.

Nero SW is better in most people's opinion, but in addition to the Adaptec SW the Plextor also comes with Plextor Manager SW which is pretty good.

Kinda a six of one, half a dozen of another situation. I personally have the Plextor 12/10/32 and I love it.

Good Luck.
